Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A search term entered into a third-party widget is handled under that provider's practices. Washington County Court Docket does not operate a court docket database or ask visitors to provide a case file in order to use its reference pages.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor sends a message through a contact channel that we operate, the message may include the sender's name, email address, and the information the sender chooses to provide. Do not send confidential court materials, account credentials, or sensitive personal information through an informal message.
Data We Gather Automatically
Like many web services, this site and its service providers may receive technical information such as an IP address, browser type, device data, page requests, referring address, and timing information. This information may be used to operate, secure, measure, and improve the site.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies or similar technology may be used by the site, analytics services, advertising services, and embedded search providers. Browser controls can limit cookies, although disabling them can affect features supplied by another service.
What We Do With This Data
Information collected through ordinary site use may help maintain the service, respond to messages, diagnose problems, understand aggregate use, and protect against misuse. It is not used to maintain an official Washington County court record. Ohio court-record access is governed by the applicable court rules and the Ohio Public Records Act, not by this private policy.
No Court-Record Data on File
This site does not host the official Washington County docket, case file, court calendar, or order. The Washington County Clerk of Courts, Marietta Municipal Court Clerk, and division clerks control the court records described in the reference material. For court-record access, Ohio's current Rules of Superintendence 11.10 through 11.14 and the responsible court's local rules apply.
Third-Party Search Partners
A third-party search service shown through a widget has its own terms, privacy notice, data collection, and result practices. We do not control that provider's systems or make its privacy commitments for it. Review the provider's notice before submitting information or purchasing any service.
Links to Other Websites
Links to the Washington County government, Ohio courts, Marietta Municipal Court, state law, and other official resources leave this site. Those organizations maintain their own websites and privacy practices. Their use of information is outside this policy.
Who Might See Your Data
Information may be processed by service providers that host, secure, analyze, or support this site, subject to their service role. It may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights or safety, or respond to a valid legal process.
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate for a small reference website. No Internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Visitors should use official court or clerk channels for an official record request and should avoid submitting sensitive case material through nonofficial forms.
Users Under 18
This site is not designed to collect information knowingly from children. Juvenile court matters can have special confidentiality rules. A visitor with a question about a juvenile case should contact the Juvenile Court Clerk rather than submit details to this site.
Your Data Rights
Depending on location and applicable law, a visitor may have rights to ask about personal information held by the site or to request correction or deletion where appropriate. These rights do not control Ohio court files. Access to court records remains subject to the court's rules, restrictions, and the record-owning clerk.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as the site or its services change. The version posted here applies after it is published. Continued use after an update means the visitor accepts the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
