Find Washington County Traffic Tickets

A Washington County traffic ticket lives with the court named on the citation, so that name is where every search should start. Read the ticket closely for the court, the charge, and the response date. Some cases surface in an online docket search; others take a call or a trip to the clerk's counter. Paying a ticket and fighting it lead to different outcomes, so confirm the next step through the citation and a current court docket before the deadline. Washington County traffic tickets reward that small check first.

Washington County Traffic Court Records

Which court holds your Washington County traffic record? The citation answers that. Marietta Municipal Court serves the whole county for traffic and misdemeanor cases. That makes it the busiest home for these dockets. A Mayor's Court keeps its own record unless an appeal moves the case. Common Pleas rarely sees an ordinary ticket, though a felony can land there after a Municipal preliminary stage. Follow the court named on the ticket. Don't run a broad name search across every court record at once. The docket entry itself can list the citation or case number, the charge, the plea, court dates, the disposition, local costs, and whether payment cleared or a hearing is set. The Marietta Municipal Court jurisdiction page confirms its countywide territory.

Washington County Traffic Citation Venue

Not every Washington County traffic citation lands in the same place. Marietta Municipal Court is the main countywide route. Belpre, Beverly, and New Matamoras each run a Mayor's Court. Each has its own ticket and clerk channels. So a Belpre ticket is not a Marietta case, even though it arose in the same county.

An officer may patrol several Washington County communities, but the court name on the citation still governs. That name tells you who holds the court date, the case status, and any copy you request.

Looking Up a Traffic Ticket

For a Marietta citation, open the CaseLook Record Search. Accept the notice and clear the CAPTCHA. Expect lag. The court warns that filing and judicial-action details can trail reality by 24 hours or more. A missing ticket online may be newly filed or delayed. It may sit in another court, or simply be blocked from remote view. When in doubt, ask the clerk who holds the record.

  1. Read the citation for the court name, ticket number, date, and time before choosing a Washington County traffic search channel.
  2. For Marietta Municipal Court, use CaseLook with one search criterion at a time and select the Traffic case type when appropriate.
  3. Use the ticket number, numeric case number, name, hearing date, or file date only as the court's form permits.
  4. Check the Calendar Search when a hearing date is known, then compare the result with the most recent court-issued notice.
  5. Call or visit the Clerk if a date is near, a result is delayed, or the citation names a Mayor's Court without a public search form.

A Mayor's Court ticket follows the court name printed on it. Marietta's CaseLook cannot stand in for that local record.

Washington County Traffic Ticket CaseLook

CaseLook belongs to Marietta Municipal Court, not to Washington County as a whole. One criterion per search is the rule. For name lookups, the court wants the last name first. Add a first or middle name. The case-number box takes digits only. Ticket numbers get their own longer field. Either route sits behind the court's agreement and human-verification steps.

Washington County Traffic Ticket Filing Scale

Marietta Municipal Court reported 5,299 other-traffic filings in 2025, plus 187 OVI, 822 misdemeanor, and 342 felony preliminary-stage filings. Its annual total reached 6,650 criminal and traffic filings. Those numbers argue for narrow, court-specific CaseLook searches. They say nothing about any single ticket or its status.

How to Find Your Traffic Court Date

Start with the ticket itself. The date and time printed near the bottom of a citation are the court's first word. That holds for an eligible Marietta matter. Record Search can help find a setting, though the court warns that postings lag. Does the online result clash with a newer citation, summons, or court notice? Call the Clerk. And note that a payment option appearing online does not mean your hearing was cancelled.

Washington County Traffic Calendar Search

Marietta's Calendar Search asks for a beginning date, with an ending date optional. Case type and match-limit fields narrow the hunt before the CAPTCHA. The court also posts a Current Docket landing interface. Check any downloadable material for date currency before relying on it to confirm a setting.

A calendar lookup helps you spot a scheduled event. It cannot replace the citation or a Clerk confirmation when your response date is close. For a Mayor's Court matter, the county publishes no shared calendar. Use the ticket and that court's own Clerk route.

Pay or Contest a Ticket

Paying an eligible Marietta citation is not like paying a utility bill. Under the court's authorization, payment counts as a guilty plea to every listed charge, waives your appearance and trial, and closes the case once processed. Contesting? Follow the citation date. Marietta's local rules send a not-guilty plea promptly to the Assignment Commissioner for scheduling.

Payment waives appearance and trial under the court's authorization. The published regular arraignment schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 a.m., except holidays.

Missed date or ineligible payment: The court says a missed citation may still appear payable after its update cycle. If it is not eligible, an in-person appearance is required because a warrant, a BMV license-forfeiture or block action, and related fees may already apply. That is the court's local notice, not a statement that every unpaid citation produces the same result.

After a contested citation, the court's local rules, not any general online-payment assumption, set the scheduling path.

Washington County Traffic Payment Limits

Marietta Municipal Court handles waiver payments through its Marietta payment finder. Type in a last name, add a first name if you have one. Last names max out at 20 characters. First names cut off at 15. There is no field for a ticket or case number. The tool finds an eligible waiver payment only. It is not a substitute for CaseLook or a neutral payment screen.

One citation can carry up to seven charges. Letter-suffixed variants may show up in the results. Every charge must be paid to waive appearance. The court's own list of matters requiring an appearance instead of an online waiver includes felony or indictable offenses, OVI, leaving the scene, many no-license or suspension matters, a third moving violation within 12 months, fleeing or eluding, drag racing, physical control, illegal plates, 100+ mph, passing a school bus, specified railroad crossings, reckless operation, and overload. Eligibility and the amount rest with the court. No universal online-card fee is published.

For the local waiver conditions, the court's published payment instructions lay them out.

Payment counts as a guilty plea. That consequence, under the full, timely waiver rule, is exactly why payment status should be confirmed with the court before an appearance date arrives.

Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record

Two offices, two files. The traffic court record behind a citation belongs to one of two places. Those are Marietta Municipal Court or the issuing Mayor's Court. Ohio BMV keeps a separate driver record. A court lookup or copy request will not pull the BMV file. A BMV request, in turn, never substitutes for the citation's court record. It also never confirms a court date.

Municipal staff may review a copy request and redact what the law requires before release. The court's payment page does note that processed waiver information is forwarded to BMV. That reporting step does not merge the two offices' records.

Washington County Traffic Mayor's Court Records

Belpre Mayor's Court takes no payments over the web. Everything runs through the clerk at 715 Park Drive. Bring the ticket or stop at the counter. The clerk's window is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The court itself convenes on the first and third Tuesday at 9 a.m. If you want a payment plan, you must appear before the court to ask. Appeals go to a different forum. File with Belpre within 10 days of judgment. The case starts fresh in Marietta Municipal Court under R.C. 1905.23.

Want the official word? The Belpre Mayor's Court information page lays out what the city itself publishes on hours, court dates, and this local docket route.

Washington County traffic ticket route for Beverly Mayor's Court

Beverly prints ticket dates right on the ticket. Sessions typically fall on a Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The Village links an approved payment vendor but posts no public docket search or citation form.

Copies and Fees

Copy charges for a Marietta Municipal traffic case come from the court's public-records policy. That policy covers that one court, not every Washington County Mayor's Court. It also allows mailed copies at actual postage and supply cost. Belpre, Beverly, and New Matamoras publish no current copy-fee schedule. So call the issuing court. Don't assume the Municipal formula applies.

Washington County Traffic Record Follow-Up

New Matamoras posts no official public traffic search, payment page, calendar, or copy-fee instruction. That gap limits access; it does not erase the record. The County directory lists the Mayor's Court at 802 Grandview Avenue, P.O. Box 536, New Matamoras, OH 45767, phone (740) 865-2124. Use the citation, the phone, or the counter. That is how you confirm a case and its court date here. The County directory listing marks the local fallback route.

Washington County traffic court record contact for New Matamoras Mayor's Court

With no public citation interface, the issuing court's counter or phone keeps your request with the office that holds the record. The ticket itself still wins. Whenever online information runs late or thin, a court-issued citation or a later notice remains the best source for the response date.
